Howdy.

Howdy,

I am a Brighton based robot hacker. I have a few of my creations on my youtube channel and also on my website

Looking forward to meeting other robotiers locally :-)

One of my bots made the main page of Trossen Robotics:-)

Howdy,

I entered one of my bots last year into the Trossen Robotics compo. I only did it becuase I had a load of collateral from making the YouTube vids. Also is is quite a cool bot, and demos how to build one using stuff you may have or can easily get at places like B&Q.

How to fix an Arduino bootloader without an external programmer!

So your Arduino just sits there flashing the loading light at you and you can't upload any sketches to it you have probably borked your bootloader.

Don't panic, the boards and chip are quite hardy and this is an easy fix (Diecimila and newer). Normally you will need an AVR programmer and plug it into the ISCP port on the board. The AVR programmer is usefull if you have other micropros, but to invest in one to fix your ATmega once or even a few times is a false economy!

So clever person has fig… Continue

How to blow up an Arduino in one easy step!

So there I was happily compiling code and uploading it, when while upping the sketch I changed a jumper (I really don't know why)!

This jumper delivers power to the servos. The result, one borked Arduino Bootloader :-(

Now you can reprogram the bootloader, but you need an ISCP AVR programmer. My PIC ISCP won't cut the mustard on this and it is more than the cost of a new Arduino.

eBay to the rescue, bootloaded chips are only £4.95 :-) I got 2, just incase I blow another one up!

The worring t… Continue

Btw we like fluorescent red I think, it's transparent with a bit of zing to it. If not fluorescent red then transparent red. Blay, my collaborator has spoken and declared red to be 'more organic'. It's more pricey per sheet, but what price beauty?

Hi Steve, good to see you on Robot Brighton. It looks like you've got some great experience with robotics and I'm looking forward to tapping your brain sometime.

I started this group because I started building robots earlier this year and wanted to meet others who had the same interests as me. Hopefully we can put together some good events and help share the robot-love about a bit.

Welcome.
